The Meeting of the Minds!
There are currently 4 women pregnant at Pioneer Ridge Middle School where Megan works. Don't drink the Chaska water!!! Megan and co-worker Jen are due just days apart. Jen is due May 28th and Megan is due June 8th. It has been fun for Megan to have someone so close in due dates to have the "pregancy experience" with. They decided to take a few pictures, and the one below was the one that got the most laughs. Hope you get a good giggle!

34 Week Update
We went to the Nutritionist & OBGYN on Tuesday for our 34 week appointment. We could not have a better report! The nutritionist is not concerned about the diabetes, as she feels Megan is doing a great job of controlling it with diet and exercise. And to top it off, the weight gain has only been 1 pound in the past month, so the nutritionist was happy with that and Megan even more ecstatic. When asking the midwife about the diabetes, she doesn't even feel as though Megan really has it, since none of her numbers have been consistently high. Praise the Lord! We hope it continues like this until delivery, as staying away from the pills and shots would be great.
We starting working out a birthing plan with the midwife, and she totally supports Megan trying the "all natural" birth plan. Since Megan is positive for Strep B, she will need an IV with antibiotics, which scares her the most! Even in light of that, Megan suggested bringing in a pile of dirt and living up to the "squatting in the field" lingo - not sure the midwife thinks that is the best. She suggested the tub instead! Our midwife is estimating the baby is about 5 lbs and will be about 8 lbs at delivery. The midwife said she is usually pretty close, although she delivered an 11 lb baby Tuesday morning that she guessed was only 9 lbs! Let's hope she is right on with the bean!!!!! When she was examining Megan's budda belly, she instantly knew where every baby body part was, so it was fun to finally feel those and be able to identify them. The bean is head down, so we pray the bean decides this is the most comfortable position! With a heartbeat still at 156 BPM, there are many people out there that believe such a high heartrate means its a girl.
We were reassured that if Megan goes into labor at any time from here on out, they will not stop the labor and the baby should come out healthy as can be! And since the contractions have been pretty consistent these past few weeks, the midwife said this is a great sign, but not to get too excited about an early labor.
Until next time...

The Bean's Room
For those of you that want to know how we decided to decorate for our gender neutral baby room, here are a few pictures. If you have ever been to our house, you know we are pretty modern, yet simple, when it comes to our decorating taste. And, of course, this made its way into the bean's room! We are excited to be able to use it!

The Bean in Progress

Here are the pictures we have taken as "the bean" has progressed in the womb. The weeks are: 12 - 16 - 23 - 30- 33 We are currently at 34 weeks, with a due date of June 8th. Anyone that knows us has a feeling "the bean" will come early. And yes, at this point, we are hoping so! Dealing with gestational diabetes (aka...no more ice cream, cereal, waffles, burgers & fries, or breaded anything) is not the best when being pregnant and thinking you should be able to eat anything you want! For those of you that knew about the pregnancy rash, we thank God everyday that the itchiness & firey sensation is gone, and Megan is just left with the spots to proove it was there. Let's hope these go away as soon as "the bean" arrives.
The Bean
Since we are not Facebook people, nor do we have the best habits with keeping in touch with our family & friends, we decided a blog would be the best way to post information about "the bean" that will be arriving soon!
Look for more posts to come!
