A Morning at the Beach!

Wow - it is finally summer out there! We have been able to enjoy the outdoors quite a bit this week, and we are loving it!

We've played with friends in various backyards, gone on walks and played with others at the park, danced to the music at the Carver Rhapsody downtown, and swam at the beach.

Our trip to the beach was so much fun this morning. It was the first time Lauryn had been to the beach, and what a wonderful beach it was! The Minnetonka Park Reserve beach is amazing. We met up with some friends and their kids, and had a blast. It was definately a busy place by the time we left, which was early-11:00, as Eric needed to get to work. The early spots under the umbrellas were almost all taken by the time we arrived at 9:30. We are definately going to become beach regulars - gotta find some good deals on beach chairs and toys!

We hope everyone is enjoying the weather and summer as much as we are.

Happy 4th of July to all!

Father's Day Adventures

We started out Father's Day at church, where Lauryn was in the nursery for the first time. Wow, that was nice to not have to worry about where she was running off to and be able to listen to the sermon!!

After church, we headed to the Hyland Park Reserve for a picnic and to play on the biggest playground we've ever seen. We had a nice, quiet lunch on the hill. Lauryn tried deviled eggs for the first time, and she was really enjoying eating from her plastic fork. That was a hoot to watch. Once we started to get bit by the bugs (the one thing mom forgot to pack - bug spray!), we headed to the monstrous playground. No swings to swing in, but there were plenty of fun slides, if we didn't have to wait our turn. If you like to people watch, and loose your kids in the mass of a playground, go to Hyland Park (Chutes & Ladders) Playground!

We came home and played and played and played in the basement!! After dinner, we went for a walk with Odin. Of course, we ended up at the park again and got to swing and slide some more!

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day. We were thankful it didn't rain today!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

My daddy is the greatest;
The best dad there ever was.
He always brings me lots of joy;
He's my very own Santa Clause.

My daddy can do anything;
He's as handy as handy can be.
I love to walk and hold his hand;
To show he belongs to me.

I LOVE YOU DADDY!

Enjoying the Outdoors!

We have been able to spend a significant amount of time outdoors these past few weeks. It has been wonderful!

We were able to go to the Arboretum in Chanhassen with Megan's godmother, Janet. We were there amidst the passing storms, and we only had to run inside once! The tulips and crabapple trees were just gorgeous! We can't wait to go again to see the newest plants that are blooming.

For Memorial Day weekend, we took a trip up to Brainerd, to visit friends for our traditional "Memorial Weekend Camping Trip". It was a bit different this year. Since lives have changed dramatically, and there are numerous kidos in the picture, we made it more of a "sleep over" at the Anderson house. It was great to see the beauty of Brainerd, and we laughed and ate alot, as always!

We were able to put up the pool this past weekend and Lauryn had a blast! We had the neighbor girls over, and we went to the neighbors, too! Crazy how much fun watching kids splash around in a pool can be. We are so glad Lauryn likes the water. It will be great to take her places to swim throughout the summer.

Five days of school left until "Schools out for Summer!"
