Our first week of summer has been a fun and busy one!! The rain today put a bit of a damper on our plans, but we still managed to have quite a bit of fun!
We started off the summer with grandma and grandpa McMahan babysitting, as Eric was on an extended fishing weekend and Megan had all the end of the year wrap up stuff going on. In addition, Megan ran her first half marathon with high school friend Zoe who was here to visit for a few days. After cheering on mommy and Zoe in the crazy heat, humidity, and sun, it was good bye to grandparents and hello to mommy! We are in the middle of potty training, so moods can be up and down. Today was a down day, and mommy is about ready to give up!!

We've spent some time at the arboretum, and can't wait until the extended outdoor learning center opens up this weekend! Lauryn always has fun with the maze and really enjoyed playing in the little houses. With all of mommy's running, she has spotted some new places along the trails. We checked out a local trout fishing lake that Lauryn throughouly enjoyed! We also checked out a new park along the river in Chaska. Storytime at the library didn't go so well. The attention span is not there and quiet church voices must only be for church?

Lauryn did enjoy a few music concerts, as they are more her style! We walked to a concert in a park in Carver that we did't even know existed and had a blast watching people and dancing. Today, the Teddy Bear Band concert was moved inside because of the rain, but Lauryn still had fun dancing and watching others. She sure is a good people watcher!!! It was fun to be there with some other neighbors and friends as well. Had to miss out on the beach events due to the weather, which was a bummer. The up side was that Lauryn took at 3.5 hour nap, which meant mom got a nap in, too!

We ended the rainy day with painting and glow in the dark bathtime, as we put glows sticks in the tub and the twilight turtle night light stars on the ceiling. Tomorrow may bring fishing in the morning with daddy, as mommy has to go to work for the second time this week....bummer!
