Happy Thanksgiving from Our Turkey to Yours!

To celebrate the day, Lauryn and mom went to the McMahan side of the family for Thanksgiving, while dad went to work. Since this has been the norm for many years, we try to have a special morning together before parting ways. We enjoyed some quality time as a family before leaving for work and turkey.

Lauryn was the center of attention with her onesie that said "Baby's 1st Thanksgiving" and her turkey hat & bib from grandma McMahan. She didn't get the turkey and stuffing, but she did have squash and rice cereal. Nummy!

Like Father, Like Daughter

Lauryn tries her hardest to watch TV, and we try our hardest to keep her from watching TV! While daddy was holding Lauryn, this is what happened...too cute to pass up!

Over Zealous?

Mom and dad were a little over zealous with the thoughts of how big Lauryn is getting! We had a good 6 month appointment on Monday, as Lauryn is growing steadily and she is doing great. Her stats fell a little short of the zealous guesses, but oh well! She is 15lbs, 10oz (40th percentile) and 25 inches long (25th percentile). Our doctor assured us she is growing perfectly, and we were encouraged to finally start the baby foods. We have tried rice cereal, carrots, peas, and applesauce. All is going well and Lauryn is very excited to be eating from a spoon! HAPPY WEEKEND!

PEEF is Shrinking!

Lauryn turned 6 months on Friday! She has become so much fun, and we know it will only get better. She is now sitting up and babbling up a storm. Her favorite is still a high pitched screech, which can get a little obnoxious, but it is still cute. Her favorite thing to do is roll to wherever she wants to go. She is constantly rolling, rolling, rolling to get to her favorite toys and books. Lauryn's teeth are continuing to come in, and we finally know what it is like to have interrupted sleep. The last week or so, she will sleep for a good 5 hours, and then decide to wake up every hour after that. The pacifier has become handy, as she is loving that while teething, so we pop that in and go back to bed. But the next hour, we are at it again. Between those teeth coming in and trying to figure out a way to get her to sleep without a swaddle, we might be in for a rough month or so.

We are headed to our 6 month appointment on Monday. We are excited to introduce some solid foods, and even more excited to see how long she has gotten. We are guessing she is in the 99th percentile for height, but still 50th for weight. We will see who wins the bet come Monday afternoon. Lauryn got her first taste of carrots today, and probably would have ate the entire jar if we let her. Guess we will be making pureed carrots in the next few days!

Lauryn got to spend some time at grandma and grandpa McMahan's last weekend, and got to see uncle Buster, Megan's godmother Janet, and lots of people at church. She also got to see her friend Aspyn that lives in Wisconsin. It is so fun to watch the girls change, and exciting to see how much Aspyn can do as a 9 month old. Her mom has to be on her toes, as she will be walking soon!

We hope everyone enjoyed the snowfall! We got around 11 inches here. Lauryn was out in the snow for a quick photo opp, but that was about all. We are hopeful it will be melted by Tuesday or Wednesday.

Hope all is well as people prepare for Thanksgiving and the holidays. We are excited for some time off in this household!
