Happy St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick's Day is Grandma McMahan's birthday. This birthday was a special one; we won't say how old she is, but let's just say it was special! Grandma came up and visited Lauryn, so Lauryn had to have a special little outfit for her and made her a special little card. Happy Birthday Grandma!

Lauryn's Personality Comes Alive

Lauryn has definitely developed quite the personality in the past few weeks. When she wants something, she WANTS it. Whether it is at the high chair or on the floor, she has mastered the hand pounding, back arching temper tantrum. We have heard the loudest screams and seen the most tears these past few weeks. Let's just hope this is a "phase", otherwise, we will both be bald in under a year.

Lauryn is into everything! She loves the cupboards, the bookshelves, and pulling everything off the shelves of her changing table. She loves to take guided walks, and when we have had enough of "walking" with her, she will let us know that she is not finished with one of her tantrums. She has had her fair share of bumps and scratches, and she got her first black eye today. Eric said we better call social services before they come find us. She fell eyeball first over her toy bin and onto another toy that attacked her. Well, at least that is the story we will share when the social workers come knocking on our door.

She is past the stage of us feeding her food, but doesn't understand how to control her intake. When it comes to bananas and strawberries, she is definitely the chipmunk baby. We love watching her eat new foods - today it was beef ravioli....oh how fun that was all over the floor!

Her vocabulary consists of lots of "da-da", "ma-ma", "na-na", "ta-ta", "ba-ba" and all the like. Oh yeah, almost forgot "wwwwwwwwwaaahhhhhhhhhhh"... She has been getting her 2 front teeth over the past 10 days or so, and we are ready for them to be in so she feels a bit better.

Off to catch her before she crawls up the china cabinet.

Feeling Better was Short Lived

Well, Wednesday over night was rough. Lauryn developed her cough again and was a restless sleeper. She continues to hack and have constant nasal drainage...ERG. Oh how we are starting to dread bringing her to daycare. So much so that Megan took a few comp hours so Lauryn didn't have to go today. The cycle just keeps going...Lauryn gets better on Fri-Sat-Sun, goes to daycare, and is sick by Wed/Thurs and we start the cycle over. Spring, where are you?

Update: Lauryn has another ear infection. Over the past few weeks, we have had 2 ear infections, bronchiolitis, and RSV. We are hoping to catch the healthy train this weekend when the meds start kicking in again.

Feeling Better!

Thanks to everyone for the many well wishes and prayers for Lauryn's health. She is feeling much better and is breathing with ease and not coughing! We are now onto the teething woes again, as her two front teeth are about to come through.

She is up to lots of "no good" with her crawling around and pulling herself up. Her latest thing is to do the "Austin Powers" look with her pointer finger up to her mouth and look sly at you. It makes us giggle! We visited the Arboretum in Chanhassen, as we now have a membership. It will be so much fun this summer to go on walks and look at all the beauty! Lauryn had a play date tonight, and she was the big girl. Megan had some co-workers over for dinner, who have babies that are 11 weeks, 2 months, and 3 weeks. Pic below is of the 11 week old and Lauryn. Her mom said she is about 16lbs already; she'll be giving Lauryn hand-me-downs before we know it!

Hoping for some warm weather that stays so we can all enjoy SPRING!
