Little Miss Busy-Body is just that. Getting into everything, playing with anything she can, and getting upset at the word "No". If anyone has any good tips on teaching the word "No" without saying it we are all for it, cause we are burnt out in this house! We are talking about a substitute for "No" that is both legal and appropriate to say to a 16 month old.
Her favorite words are now "dog" and "door"...every animal she sees is a dog that moos, and every wall, window, painting, or object in the house is a door. The days of wishing she couldn't say "mama" have come as well.
Now, don't get a bad message here, Lauryn is such a joy everyday, especially as we see her grow with how quick she is learning new things. A few weeks ago, a friend was over with her baby. Lauryn saw us lay a blanket down for the baby to lay on, and the next morning, she got out the blanket and laid it out for him...just too cute! And when she points to the water spout in the fridge and holds up her cup for more water, it just makes you giggle. Or, when she says goodnight by saying "mmuuaaa" along with blowing kisses, it makes your heart melt.
We've managed to hit quite a few garage sales lately, and have stocked up on some indoor toys for the winter. We knew there was a good reason for finishing the basement - indoor play central. I think we could start charging admission for the neighbor kids and make a mint. Oh, and the tu-tu outfit below...yes, it was a gift. If Megan were to purchase something like that for Lauryn, Eric might just take the checkbook away. But notice, the Vikings cheerleader outfit is an approved purchase!
We've enjoyed switching to an in home daycare, and Lauryn seems to love it there. We are hoping for a great experience from a lady who truly has a huge heart for Lauryn.
Hope all is well - we've covered our plants for the night in hopes to save a few from the frost that is forecasted to come. Happy Fall!

Pretending to still fit in the infant chair - at least she didn't push baby Marshall out of it!!
Learning to clean at an early age - it is even better when she grabs a towel and gets on her hands and knees next to her mom!

Oh, she's learned how to make a mess, too. Who left the bathroom door open?
Yes, this is Lauryn in a tu-tu and headband...picture worthy.
Trying to keep herself entertained during the Vikings game.

Lauryn's evaluation of the 1st Vikings game...they stunk.
