It's Almost August....

...and we haven't updated the blog since May!!  Whew, time sure does fly by.

The adventures of a 3 year old are just that: ADVENTURES!  Wow, Lauryn sure does have an independent personality and is very directive in wanting things her way!  She is always such a gem, but she definately has a "I know what I want and I'm going to get it" personality.  We all scratch our heads and wonder where that came from :-)

This summer, we've been keeping ourselves extremely busy!  We can't even begin to summarize the summer, so we will just talk about a few things we have done, if we can remember.  Campfires, time at the beach, bike rides on her princess bike and in the pull-behind, time at the splash pad, numerous play dates with neighbors and friends, Vacation Bible School (mom was teaching preschoolers from 9am-2:30pm...what was she thinking?!?!?), watching the weather with daddy, trips to the library for storytime, reading with dogs, reading with princesses, seeing the magician and more, running her first "race", a week at a cabin north of Grand Rapids, a visit to Waterpark of America, camping near St. Cloud, trips to the arborteum, and trips to see family or have family come to our house.

Yes, indeed it has been a busy, but FUN summer.  Lauryn has enjoyed every minute of it and has not had too many meltdown with lack of sleep and/or no naps.  She has managed to stay away from daycare all summer, so we will see how the transition back to daycare and then to preschool goes.  She will have a lot of adjusting to do while learning to "follow the rules" that are not her own!

We hope everyone has been enjoying the sunshine and recent cooler weather - it has been a blessing but has limited our time at the pool/beach!
