Lauryn has entered the "I'm going to fuss just because I can" stage. Her favorite thing is to start to fuss, then stop to make sure someone is looking. She is definitely realizing that when mom and dad leave the room, it is the best time to make herself known. She also finds her time in the highchair as time to do anything but eat. She caught a stomach bug from daycare, and since then, has not had much of an appetite. Neither have mom, dad, grandpa or grandma McMahan, as they all caught the bug, too. Good thing she is so easy to love, otherwise we'd all be pretty upset that we got so sick!
She is starting to have a wide range of strange/crazy/weird faces. We wonder where she learned those, but we don't have to look far, since mom's facial expressions can be quite drastic at times. We hear the occasional "ma" and "da", but mostly still listen to "gaga", "err", "ah" and squeals. She is trying so hard to crawl, but just doesn't have the arm strength. She gets up on all fours, rocks back and forth, and then continues to attempt crawling by using her face as her arms. It is quite entertaining.
She was a great helper when we decorated for Christmas, and she is excited to wear her beautiful Christmas dress that she got from Megan's godmother. When we put it on her, she was more excited at taking off her shoes and pulling her dress up, so we should get some interesting pictures!
